Pictures in signatures

Post by Crazy Bob »

According to the Netiquette of this forum, "It is not allowed to put pictures in your signature".

However, more and more users are including pictures in their forum signatures. Given the lack of action by moderators, is it now allowed to put a picture in your forum signature?

There may be a certain hesitation by some moderators to act when other moderators seem to ignore the guideline. I am not aware of any decision to permit pictures in the signature - other than inconspicuous ones, such as flags or emoticons.

The 07 stands for july, which is when the rules were enacted.

But I believe the particular signature Crazy Bob had in mind is now acceptable. Not my merit, of course.

Well, there are even forum moderators who are using pictures in their signature, e.g. Phaseolus.

But "no pictures" and "acceptable" are two different things I believe. And besides, who deems what is "acceptable" and what is "unacceptable"?

on the Dutch forum, there are at this moment at least two users with third-party (non-EBT) pictures in their signatures...

Where to enter a new signature?

Post by Semmy »

I seem to need some help to find where I can enter a new signature. I think I tried all positions in my personal area but there wasn't any option like "show signature" or "enter signature". Can anybody help me?

Judging by the signature in your message, looks like you've already found the place where you can enter the signature. For the record, it's in User Control Panel -> Profile -> Edit signature.

Ouch! I've had tomatoes on my eyes. [Does one say so in English?] Thanks.

Unfortunately, I cannot enter this: Image But I saw this in other postings ... That's the way, I found this interesting site. In the signatures, [IMG] is off ... :?

Right.. [img] tags have indeed been disabled in signatures via a phpBB v3 configuration option for some time now. However, that change didn't affect the signatures that were already in use. Nobody is currently able to create a new signature or edit an old one with [img] tags in it.
