Post by starcapitan »

Since 2004 they are real :!: :!:
I started my collection with 12 of them ( 60 € ) and I ordered 7 more coins so only Monaco 07 , Vatican and S. Marino are missing . They say they are very expensive and hard to find .
I like them all
I have :
2004 :flag-it: , :flag-gr: , :flag-lu:
2005 :flag-at: , :flag-es: , :flag-be: found , :flag-lu:
2006 :flag-de: , :flag-be: , :flag-lu:
2007 :flag-pt: , 2 x Treaty of Rome :flag-it: & :flag-fi:

if u have anything to say about them ... any comments are welcome :flag-eu:
I like very much the 04 Athens one from Greece.
P.S. I have the  to buy all the others " Treaty of Rome " . .

does anyone knows something about the 08 ones ? I keep monitoring the BCE site at this URL http://www.ecb.int/bc/euro/coins/comm/h" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... ex.en.html

ciao,andrea

Germany will continue its "state twoers" series; the country has 16 states, and next year's issue features Hamburg. http://www.numismatico.de/files/de-2euro2008_160.jpg And I just read that Luxembourg plans to issue a "Château de Berg" €2 commem. Both pieces should come out in early February, just in time for the World Money Fair.

By the way, these are the two sites that I check more or less regularly:
http://www.ecb.europa.eu/bc/euro/coins/ ... ex.en.html
(ECB, same as yours)
http://ec.europa.eu/economy_finance/eur ... ins_en.htm
(European Commission)

Currently, however, neither of the two lists the Finnish €2 commem http://www.vm.fi/vm/en/03_press_release ... m/name.jsp that comes later this year. Apart from that, they seem to be complete. 8)

I paid for Vatican city between 180€ and 250€ for serie one, and three.
There is a shop in antwerp (Belgium) where you can find all eurocoins who are in circulation.

It's in the Jezusstraat close by the Meir, next to the Belgacomshop.

I e-mailed my request at vm-viestinta@vm.fi to see the coin and they immediately sent me an email with that :!: There's an ancient boat with 9 rowers and 9 long oars and the rudder at the end. 4 waves down the boat and 2007 above all and down all 1917.
It's nice ; I have to ask when it will be real in shops ? I didn't know that there was one more coin not in BCE table 4 07 :!:

Ciao Andrea,
Questo commemorativo (da Finlandia) sarà zeccata in decembre. Devi aspettare un pò, (come noi, ahaha!) ma sto aspettando anch'io con impazienza!

Indeed. An image of that design (laaarge picture) can be viewed if you click on the "Commemorative coin for Finland's independence - JPG, 292 KB" link in the press release that I mentioned.

This is, by the way, pretty much the same design that they used for the €5 collector coin (here http://www.mint.fi/en/documents/2220/2P ... ytmiMV.jpg is an image of the plaster model). But since those collector coins are legal tender in the issuing country only, I don't care much about them. This €2 coin however I plan to get!

Yes, that one was issued by Monaco earlier this year:
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/sit ... 060006.pdf

Those €300 are not really a "black" market price - awfully expensive, yes, but apparently that is what people are willing to pay for this coin.

"Do you have Buddha-nature or not?"
The cow answered: "Moo."

Yes,I did. They are brand-new coins , in plastic sealed envelopes.
The most expensive one has been :flag-fi: 04
I also payed 105 € 4 the 8 coins eurobox + Slovenia in Savona . They are not bad prices,do u think :?:

about the :flag-fi: 07 The Bank of Finland will be releasing the coins shortly before the Independence Day, which is at the 6th of December

so the collector coins haven't got a common side 8O

does anyone know which is the particularity of the ToR :flag-lu: of course 07 :?:

No, an Italian silver collector coin, for example, is legal tender in Italy only. Also, the Italian ones, and a few others (like Belgian or French ones), cannot be had at face value but you pay more. In some countries (e.g. Germany, Netherlands ...) you can get the pieces at face (e.g. 10 euro for 10 euro) but again, they are "regional" money only. And even in the issuing country they do not really occur in circulation.

According to the law in Luxembourg, the grand duke must be depicted on each coin. So in order to comply with that, while using the same design as all others, they added Henri's effigy as a "latent image". On some coins this is done to make counterfeiting more difficult - here it is primarily a decorative element, I think ...
