Today I got my first maltese coin! 2 cent in a supermarket in Frankfurt-Bergen-Enkheim.

Two days ago I remarked the first Maltese 20ct coin in my purse. Just spent it in an Edeka Supermarket in Greifswald-Ostseeviertel.

I'm not looking at each reverse side of coins - so this might not have been my first Maltese coin ever...

I was actually separating my €2 coins from the others (they are useful for paying the bus) when I saw a shiny 10 ct coin that had an unfamiliar design. Because you are reading this in this topic it is no surprise that it was a Maltese coin (from 2008, so it's not that new). I think it is the first coin with this design I've seen.

Congratulations for finding your first Maltese 10 cent coin :D . I need to admit, that I saw them a few times, especially on my visit to Malta at the end of September. Of course, it was very easy to find Maltese coins  , but even there, I only saw 2008 10 cent coins. Newer coins were only 2€ 2010. So I assume, that Malta didn't produce any new ones since joining the eurozone, and why should they? 5 years are not very old for a coin, and for example, German 10 cent coins are mostly 2002 ones, and they're a couple of years older than the Maltese ones.
Anyway, receiving a Maltese 10 cent coin outside Malta is rather hard and always a report worth  .
