Is it just me, or are they plainly horrible?
I voted n. 2, but I can't really understand its meaning. Is it supposed to resemble the number "10"?
On a side note, I would say it's the first time the euro sign is printed on an official coin or banknote (apart from the holograph on the banknotes).
PS. The way of voting is the following:
1. You fill the form and cast your vote
2. You receive their email
3. You click on the link to confirm your vote
4. You can see the results

I actually dislike the 2nd coin!
it seems to be designed by a 2 year-old child... I prefer nº 1 or nº 5.
AndI just wonder... is it the actual vote?

@starcapitan: If you click on any of the "question mark coins" on the first page, you should get an enlarged view. That does not work on the following page where you can see the mini-versions. Or have a look at this page: http://www.zwei-euro.com/2-euro/gemeins ... muenze.htm Yes, #2 is supposed to look archaic, I think, but it also is a little childish. Currently I like #5 best, but I have not voted yet.

Also on http://www.eurodesigncontest.eu, if you click on the coin pictures in the homepage, you will see an enlarged picture and a description in your own language.
I liked the idea behind the first one (which is said to represent the European Parliament), it's a pity they didn't come out with a better final design.

I agree with you hoppa and I'm going to vote n. 5.hoppa wrote:I voted for 5 . For me it shows best how EU has grown in the 10 years.
After that it's the best design, imho.

as an artist, and being that I love expressionistic retro schemes, number 2 is my only possible choice. I'm appalled that there are no better designs, from all of Europe, and that these boring, basic, bland, and unimaginitive trifles are the best that the minds that be can put forth.
How grey are the skies they paint?
Have none uf us imagination?
Well, at least number two is interesting, in as far as an artist's viewpoint. it's so archaically innocent and hopefull, and can touch the children and younger generations and give hope and wonder as well---- as far as (two fold) becoming interested in numismatics, and also in the community of Europe.
(afterall, the children will always be our future. - weren't we children once? yet this design also pulls upon a more neolithic theme, drawing us yet back to the Europe of the nomadic ice age, where man first conquered this continent, his coin was common, and such was his country.
It's very each man, every 'plain' man with his Euro, his 'one' currency.
It could have bee drawn by a child, or some cave man 10,000 years ago.... it's intrinsically beautiful
