2 Cent from Belgium. Any year (prefer 2002)

Post by Jes »

Hello friends!

Last day, I met my cousin, who collect euro coins, and he show me his collection. He only miss the 2 cent from Belgium and I said him that perhaps I will be able to help him with his collection.

Are any of you interested on swapping any coin? I look for that coin only, but perhaps we can profite the sending to swap more coins...

They should be common enough that you could just go to a shop and ask for a coin with a piece of lard pictured on it.
(Sorry, Belgians. The king sure looks better in reality. But the picture in the coin IS horrible)

2002, however, is quite impossible to get from circulation

8O why?

:? :? Did they do the same as Finland & Netherlands? Quite a pity... but the 1 and 2 cent are actually useless sometimes... :o

According to this page they were only minted for collectors and not for circulation.

May well be that somebody opened a set and used the coins as what they basically are - cash. :) A friend of mine in the US once picked a coin with an S mintmark, thus a proof (well, ex-proof ...) piece, up in circulation.

I found two coins that are not listed on that site: 1 euro 2003 :flag-de: "D" and 10 cent 2004 :flag-de: "J"
the last one has been found by some more people on eurotracer
while of the 10 cent 2004 :flag-de: "F", 51.400.000 pieces have been made, but I am the only one who found one

So... It is useful to be quite lucky in order to find out all the coins

right, you have to be lucky, then you find the coins
but to be lucky several times, you need to be extra lucky, and at some point the luck will have gone out

In Euroland maybe. As for the entire EU, I vote for Romania - they currently have the dullest pieces ...

Actually the portrait of the Belgian king looks a little better on the new (2008) coins. Still eight times the same, but at least a somewhat better profile methinks.
