damaged coin

Post by morty » Mon Dec 08, 2008 9:30 am

Hy, i have one question for you:
I recently buy (at the bank) Slovenian 3 € coin (Presidency of the European Union). I noticed, that coin, that I bought has marks (circles), that has left lathe (I suppos they use lathe when they make coins) in the middle of the star. At the bank, seller take this coin from the roll (with gloves) and then gave it to paper bag. This coin was allready damaged, when I got it. Now I am interested, if this is good (coin has special value) or bad (coin has no value)? Thanke you for your opinion.

That kind of error is very interesting! I have never seen anything like that before! I do not know what kind of thing could have done that, but is interesting. There are collectors who collect error coins and they pay money for these coins, but I am not an expert on this kind of coins.

You are a very lucky man. More you can find on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slovenian_euro_coins Other commemorative coins (Collector's coins)
