2004 coins
On average, the quality of Belgian euro's is truly dramatic. Many die-cracks and poor strikes occur. In fact, Begium is the only euro country so far which has 2€ coins of which the pill is audibly loose in the ring. If you throw 50 of these coins one by one on the table you're bound to find a coin which has a different sound. Try if you can here it ticking when you shake it close to your ear.
To give a more detailed review of the 1c '04 I need a good picture of the coins.

Do you have information about euro variants? Tell me!
That is strange. As far as I know, all the coins are minted from similar billets. Tell me if I'm wrong.Senior wrote:On average, the quality of Belgian euro's is truly dramatic. Maybe it is because of the design of the Belgian euros. When minting them, they are maybe punched from incorrect places so that the two pieces of one and two euro coins don't really stick together.

2 * 1 ct J 2004
2€ A
(a customer coming from Leipzig/East Germany paid with this coin)
and 2 ct Luxemburg 2004

It looks like this 2004 coin is rather 'common'. A friend has found his first 2004 in circulation ... guess ... a Lux. 2c 2004! I wonder why? Is Lux. exporting his 2c coins? In 2003, the first foreign 2003 coin I've received was a Lux. 2c too ...joergb30 wrote: and 2 ct Luxemburg 2004
Today, I've got a 1€ & 2€ Lux. 2004 -almost unc- + 5c Belgium 2004 from circulation at my 'FG' spot !
The early finds of Lux 2c '04 may have something to do with the date of issue of these coins. All values of Lux '04 were already available in december '03. Henceforward they have had more time to spread around Europe then coins which were issued during '04.

Last year, in Herentals, we had a relative 'large' amount of UNC shiny 2c Lux. 2003 all with the same error (stempelbreuk) on the coin (so they can from the same batch) I've collected about 5 of them.
I think some banks -in Herentals- used fresh UNC 2c Lux. 2003 coins. How those banks received those coins to use, I don't know ... I've never visited all banks in Herentals to ask .
Maybe, this fact is the same for 2c Lux. 2004 ??

1 ct J 2004 (x...)
Can you please tell me which euro coins you're looking for in order to find a swap?
