Errors on coins

Post by romain17 »

Hi all, I want to create this new topic to talk about euros coins that have manufacturing errors.
I collect euro coins and since some months I collected coins who have errors.

So maybe if you want to put some pictures to see some of theses coins it could be very interesting, like the others topics of 2015 coins for example :D

I have only 4 coins with errors that I think are unusual:

But these may not be called errors, are technically manufacturing defects.

Surely.
In this thread of a numismatic foum there is a great review of cases like these (unfortunately to see the images you must be registered and logged).

I've recently got this :flag-lu: 20c , with an unusual defect over the "2004" characters :

Hi everyone
I found this coin in my change today.
Is it production error or someone just flipped inner part, - is it even possible?
Any idea if its valuable at all?

Thank you

Someone just flipped inner part ! :wink:

When the coin is minted the two part are already assembled, so the center and the ring are minted at the same time !

Value = 2€ sorry...

I'll just take advantage of this thread:

Is that an error? Could it be a so called "weak strike"? It's interesting how it's just those two characters (a 0, obviously, and a 7) that are faded.
