I just saw the post with the winning design today.
From all the designs available, I found this one to be the least appealing to me if I remember correctly. Erasmus, I'd say, is granted to young people (late teens/early twenties) in most of the cases. Why they came up with a design which seems to aim at the now grown-up first Erasmus generations is not quite logic to me.
Furthermore, I fear that the design is prone to retain quite a lot of dirt when in use and after a short time, they'll probably become rather dirty. Similar to normal French or Italian 2€ coins.....
