www.val.se is most probably a good place to watch if you're interested in the Euro vote results. Results should start pouring it at about 20:00 Swedish (CET) time if I've understood correctly.

Let's see if Finland gets a neighbour Euro country, I sure hope so

They just had an item about the referendum in sweden here on the Belgian news
not all votes were counted

but 46% said Yes
and 52% said no
the other 2% were undecided

I think it's sad but No seems to be winning

:x

how stupid can you be :?

Those numbers sound like unofficial polls by the gallup companies to me. Of course the votes haven't been counted yet, the poll stations closed just 20 minutes ago.

The official status as of now:

Yes: 30.2%
No: 68.1%
Empty: 1.6%

.. but this is based on results received from 29 out of 5976 polling places, things might still change. I'd venture to guess that the most Yes votes come from bigger cities, and the cities are the biggest polling places and thus counting the votes in those polling places is going to take longer. That's why I expect the percentage of Yes votes to rise, it remains to be seen if it's going to be enough. But it looks bad :?

I'm watching SVT at the moment, some people are being interviewed about their voting decisions.

Well, they're Swedes, what else can you expect from them? (sorry)

So it looks like we Finns are going to have a southern Euro neighbour before Sweden comes to their senses and joins EMU. Interesting.

Too bad for Sweden, see you again in 2013!

:( Never mind... 10 new countries will come into Europe next year. The euro will soon arrive in new countries.

BTW, I wonder how to get EBT known in these countries? Is there somebody who could translate it into a polish version?

Well, we have (at least) two years to find such a person, I don't think we need to worry about that just yet.

For the record, here are the current stats:

Yes: 36,3%
No: 61.7%
Blank: 2.0%

1165 of 5976 districts counted.

Oh yes, does someone know if this is a binding referendum (is there such a thing)? I think the Swedish Parliament has the final say on this matter, so if the results are very even the Swedes might get into EMU after all, assuming the members of the parliament are wise enough.

I wasn't unfortunately watching or listening very closely on SVT, but I think I saw a graph on the screen that displayed a prediction that the Yes side might win after all :!: :?:

Man, this is getting interesting.

Yes: 37,8%
No: 60,2%
Blank: 2,0%

2010 of 5976.

Women:
- Yes: 40%
- No: 58%
- Blank: 2%
Men:
- Yes: 52%
- No: 46%
- Blank: 2%
