Well, I think the diversity is bigger than in most other EU-countries. Think for instance about BeNeLux-countries or France, Spain etc: all or most of their neigbours have similar answers (yes) to all of the issues mentioned.

I find it politically interesting at least to some extent. Of course, I see the situation from a Finnish point of view (but naturally, the similar diversity also occurs from those Finland's neighbour countries' point of view).

I'm not saying this should seem at all interesting to everyone ;)
yes no i understand what you mean :D we are maybe neigbours but our opinion of things are not so similar that most of people things.

France has borders with 9 countries in Europe and many others by its overseas territories. The situation is a bit like Finland if you consider the borders with:
- Andorra, Monaco, Switzerland : not in the EU.
- UK not in Shengen, despite the tunnel under the Channel.
- Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, Italy and Spain: in EU, with Shengen, the euro and NATO.

Out of Europe, it gets crazy:
- Brazil, Surinam...
France has to control the external EU border there.

BTW, there is a border between France and the Dutch Antilles. Find where! ;-)

This border between Holland and France is in South America. It is between Suriname and French Guyana.

Am I right?

I remember 2:
- Switzerland now taxes EU citicens' incomes from capital.
- European former officials, who live in Switzerland, are no longer taxed on their pensions.

In total there were 7 major agreements including a Schengen membership. Switzerland will pay 700 million € over the next 5 year for the benefits they get from EU.
I heard also that Norway has to pay to EU for Schengen and other benefits as much as Portugal pays for its membership. 8O

By the way, the Princess Juliana airport (SXM) at St. Maarten is famous for its awesome-looking landings... Here are some websites that have great landing pictures:

Try the landing with the Flight Simulator, if you have one! That's fun! :D I had no idea where on earth this place was, but now I know.
