Just a pretext, my friend.
In no normal country, except in the "illiberal states", the great leader (with the certainty that the parliament will support him, because at that time has his majority) decides fundamental matters like the Constitution without being submitted to referendum, and above all not he passes his reforms trying to close the mouth at opposition and to put the judiciary under his control. Too easy call upon the elected parliament to support policies aimed at gradual dismantling the democracy.
rh69 wrote: Wed Feb 21, 2018 10:23 amSo if the people is against Orban's policy, they should have voted for other parties.
The Orban's policy is contrary to the principles of the democratic state of law, so if the people really support it, it must realize its plans outside EU, without wishing to oppose the EU by accepting its money and belonging to the European economic system because it's convenient. Similar characters are usually called "fuck faces".
But finally Orban came into power in a democratic way, just like Hitler and Erdogan. It is the job of the people to vote for reasonable and democratic leaders, that cannot be done by people or politicians from other nations.

If they really want to support Orban they have to do it outside EU, because Orban's plan are incompatible with democracy and with the permanence in EU, like Hitler and Erdogan. The fuck face must stop kid us.

But the EU will not get rid of Orban for they cannot kick Hungary out, because therefore Hungary would have to cancel the membership like the UK and Orban certainly will not do so, for he wants the money of the EU, as you described.

Even without expulsion, in the serious cases the voting rights at European Council can be suspended (deprivation of decisional power concerning EU). As an interim measure, financial aid can be suspended.

But that requires an official investigation and that takes time and it will only be successful if Orban litterally violates European law.

We are not talking about a "literally violation of European law" but an increasingly violation of the basic rules of democracy, then automatically the basic rule of EU membership. This does not require "official investigations" and when time will end the consequences for Hungary will not be good.
