Lagarde herself twitted on the 3rd of July, claiming that banknotes with her signature would be in circulation the following week. Exactly a week later, an EBTor tried to register the first Lagarde notes. I does not seem to be "bank mistakes".

But there are only very few reported so far (5 or 6 known to me, 3 of them on eurotracer.net).

Very few EBTors have found them in the wild but I guess that is normal for every new batch of banknotes. There's quite a bunch of them sold or for sale at Delcampe and eBay.

This is, of course, the first time a new signature is introduced during a pandemic, which has had an effect on circulation patterns and this hobby.

The decision was made not to include his signature in the remaining production of 2002 fivers. I think it's a pity, it would have been quite a rare note. :)
After all this time, I just thought I'd clarify. His signature did not make it make to 2002 fivers, but it did make it to other 2002 notes, of course (as is made clear by the stats generated by the excellent EBTCheck). So, some of those are somewhat interesting notes to find. :)

Still have not seen The Lagarde - but my registering rate is down to historic levels, so no surprise.

EF means Extra Fine condition.

The serial starts NC (maybe for New Christine).

I found my first Lagarde ( :note-5: EC) five days ago in Algeciras (southern Spain). Today I found a :note-20: RP in Ceuta.
