Looks very suspicious indeed.

But he's registered since 08-01-200, that's almost 7 months. And he has entered 8320 notes.

So let's give him the benefit of the doubt and assume it's not a fake user at this time.

Maybe somebody with access to his email address could contact him and express his concerns and request some proof (scan or picture of a sequence of notes).

Looks like he's only entering suspicious notes ... even if you work at a bank and have access to a lot of new notes, you'll have access to used notes too ... why not entering those as well ?? I think he's faking those large amount of numbers from real notes he has had  .

I Don't know. But in his profile he mentions an E-mail address. Is there someone who can ask politely in German if Hans-Jürgen can provide us some explanation maybe even some proof.

Yes, that seems to be a good explanation. How else can you explain these (there are more similar cases for him):

Code: Select all

Pay special attention to the one date in March. I find it extremely strange that three months later he found the other nearby notes. I wonder what's his motivation for doing this?

Who can block his account? It's unfair to all other people who enter real notes. He's even worse than woombel, our first serialist. His account was blocked too to prevent him entering fake notes!.
BTW, he entered the users top 10 today  .

In addition to what bhoeyb said:
On Sunday morning there were a lot of entries by Westhighland with missing location but double postal code.

I think Philippe should modify his code to forbid entries like this.

This is indeed a good proof that some of his entries being fraudulent.

There are two reasons I can think of

1. He wants to raise his number of notes to get as high as possible in the rankings
2. He's curious if there's any family of the notes he got, entered into EBT

If he is doing it for reason one, I agree he's worse than the woombel-clan, and thus his account should be blocked.

If he is doing it for reason number 2, I think simply cleaning up his account (removing all the family notes, without comment and except for the first one) would be more advised.

Last night (Tue Aug 05, 2003 2:44 am), Westhighland has commented a thread in the German forum regarding his debatable mass entries. I translate for those of us who do not read the German forum.
Westhighland wrote:
georgie1913 wrote: I've noticed, and not for the first time, that "Westhighland" from Berlin enters whole series of bills with different values. If this is true then either this person is very lucky to get always new notes, but I personally believe that we see here an active faker.
 I can only emphasize that all these bills passed through my hands! :!: My email adress is publicly accessible for any questions!
This has been an impartial translation, to the best of my knowledge.

It may be worth noting in this context that printer R (Bundesdruckerei) is located in Berlin and that Berlin might serve as center of distribution for new notes.

I also noticed he didn't enter new consecutive serials last night.

In this topic a Triple hit followed by this single hit was already discussed.

Probably the 2 last user know each other, but I'm unsure about the first user in the triple hit.

I've emailed those last two users and asked for clarification. I try to avoid emailing EBT users, but in cases like this it might be needed.

Yes it's better to bring this discussion to this site. I think that's no fake hit between the first and the second user in the triple hit. But now I saw that the second and third user of this triple hit made another hit with each other. These are fake. I think the chance is very small to have a hit twice with the same person in a few days in a regular way.

Hard to believe that MacGver (this should probably be the spelling) is responsible for such a bold entry. And this is not even the first time for this user.

This is fake. This can't be.

What do they do with the bills of moderated hits? Do they stay in the list of the first user who inserted them and also in the list of the second user or is it also thrown away from the list of banknotes they have entered?
