My initial impression (not 100% verified yet) is that the notes are real but the locations are not. I'd rather have the note entries fixed than delete those 1263 entries.Dakkus wrote:But.. Of course they /might/ be real.

I gave Marsupilami a week to answer my question but I didn't get a response. I resent my message and waited two more days, still nothing. I've now deleted his note entries from the database. If he ever comes up with a reasonable explanation for his entries, the note data can always be recovered from the backups. At least this should count as a serious "heads up" message for him..

Well, yes and no. I make my decisions on a case-by-case basis, but this method has proven to be rather effective. I try to use some gentler methods first, like asking for an explanation via email. If it doesn't work, it's good to have a scare tactic like this in my arsenal. If I can somehow detect the fake ones from the non-fake ones, I'll delete the fake ones first, and if that doesn't stop him I can always threaten to delete all his notes. That usually gets the ball rolling, so to speak. I'm not planning to threaten everyone with this, only the most serious offenders get this treatment.Sneakster wrote:Is this going to be standard policy for ALL fake entries in the future?
As for Marsupilami, I'm actually hoping to get some sort of an explanation from him so I could restore at least some of his notes. I deleted his notes so that he'd notice that I'm indeed serious about this. As I said, his notes themselves seem valid (well, most of them at least) but the locations need an explanation.
ImT and me
I seem to have gotten yet another hit with ImT. This is something I really can't help - he's my wife's brother, and money travels very often within the family. I've tried to avoid entering notes that I positively know were from ImT but sometimes the hits still slip through.
So, please moderate the latest hit between nomead and ImT: Although the money didn't travel directly between us, it's not a random hit as it should be.

That's admirable! I wish more people were as honest and "confessed" their connections to other users.
So, this older one should go as well?

Re: ImT and me
personally i dont think these hits between nomead and ImT should be moderated. if a hit wasn`t forced by giving the number or the note to anyone else, it`s a real hit for me. ebt trys to track down the money to see where it was and where it will be the next time. just imagine every 2nd european would join ebt (wouldn`t that be greatnomead wrote:So, please moderate the latest hit between nomead and ImT: Although the money didn't travel directly between us, it's not a random hit as it should be.
