The first international hit involving Italy - a bit strange?

Post by Lou Crazy »

Here it is:
http://www.eurobilltracker.eu/index.php ... id=2294277

It's the first international hit involving Italy (not counting hits which have already been moderated, obviously)

This note moved for 2614 Km from Finland to Taormina, Sicily in just 3 days. However, it was entered in Taormina by a second finnish user, and both users only have few notes (164 one, 34 the other) but they have two hits each.

I find it a bit difficult to believe that a finnish person should get a euro note in Sicily, and that same note was in finland three days earlier, and was registered by a different, unknown person.

My bet is these two users know each other (which makes for an uninteresting hit)

What do you think? :?:

I agree with you. I also find it almost impossible to have such luck... Sad thing, it would be a nice hit.
Living away from Euro zone in the beautiful Vancouver, Canada since January 2012. Experiences and stories of living in here can be found in here (in Finnish).

A possible explanation might be: pekam has been on holiday in Sicily, and
has written the serial number on a paper and put it in his/her wallet. He/she
flew back to Finland, stopped at Helsinki Airport (probably, I don't think
there is a direct flight from Joensuu to Sicily) and spent the bill there. But he/
she forgot about this serial number he/she had written down, and some time
later he/she found the paper with the number written on it. He/she inserted it,
and it appeared that the bill already had been found in Hyvinkää, a town near
Helsinki.

One time I had forgotten I had written down some numbers, and about two
weeks later I found the paper back and entered the bills.

I think we should ask for an explanation, a.f.a.I.k. tapaho and pekam aren't
known as fakers (or am I wrong?).

Maybe it was a touristgroup from Finland who went together to Italy, the first one received the note in Finland, he/she spend it on their trip in Sicily, maybe they went to the same shop, so the next one received there in Italy.

Well, the Italian hit has been moderated now. Yes, it sounds a bit too suspicious to be just pure luck.

But it can happen, I prefere Fons' position on this.
My wife got back as change in a tie shop a note of mine, I spent the day before.

But I still think it's fake, I think it's to good to be true.
Remember it was a €50 euro note, people don't get those notes back as change usually.

It just happens to my wife. We both note on travelling the numbers and put them into the system when back. Most money voyaging is caused by travellors !!! Input dates to the billtracker therefore are not realtime, but late.

I would be suspicious if two people introduce the same note nearly in the same hour and there is a long distance between.

Sorry, the mistake might be obvious to you but I can't see a problem with that entry. Could you please tell me what's the exact problem?

The shortcode should be L, not J (I think).

Sorry, when we go for 3 weeks travel or so, we take 500 or 200 Euro notes. (If you take 5 or 10 E notes your purse get swollen).
Change then is well 100 or 50 notes.

Don't worry, some bankers are on the tracker!
