In Quebec, it's not, but Halloween is a big deal.BossaNova wrote:Today (1st November) is holiday here in Portugal and some other european countries, is it in yours?
In Germany All Saints' Day is a federal affair. Shops close in Baden-Würtemberg, Bavaria, Northrhine-Westfalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, also partly in Thuringia. In the other 10 states it is a rather usual day.
The 6 states mentioned above have more than 50% of the total population, so I voted "yes"

Yes, yesterday was holiday in Italy.
And it happened to be a Friday, so this means that most shops will get the occasion to make a big three days holiday.

My Belgian colleagues were still available on Wednesday, but many prepared for an extended weekend then. On Thursday, I lost contact. Hope they'll have returned savely by Monday.Tiger wrote:We had 1 week holiday in Belgium
I should spend some money when I go to a conference in Turnhout next Wednesday, the chances for a hit are much bigger in this area.
