It's a hit between notgroschen and GBS (this was to get the names into this post).

But I wonder, why do you think it's suspicious?
(according to the comments, this note from notgroschen was found by "Schmidt" on his/her holidays at Fuerteventura and was spent home at the Sparkasse)

What about GBS entry ? Where has HE really found this note ? In Fuerteventura or in his city ?

GBS writes in his comment "Urlaub Schmidt-eingezahlt Gera Sparkasse".
"eingezahlt" means: "deposited".
So the note Schmidt (I guess, that's the "S" in "GBS") got in Fuerteventura during his holidays ("Urlaub") was deposited at the Sparkasse in Gera. If you want to have a hit with GBS, you need to go to the Sparkasse in Gera (if someone didn't get it already).

You can merge the cities if you want to. It does no harm, although the cities with incorrect encoding will eventually be fixed once the root cause of the problem has been identified and fixed, so you may end up doing some extra work.

I merged the locations. I had searched for "%\u0%" locations and there's none apart from Cervães so even if the error isn't corrected soon it shouldn't be too much work to merge the future miscoded locations, if any.

there are 44 such locations at the moment (search for %\\u%), three new ones in the last month.

\u0391\u03b8\u03ae\u03bd\u03b1 (15234) means "Αθήνα"

I noticed that in the last days many inaccuracies in the combination town/country happened and I suspect that this is due to another app having a bug.
Here there are some examples of recent tracked bills (ordered by entering number) ; maybe they are just mistakes, but the fact that the same town is placed in consecutive countries makes me thinking about a bug.

Hello Ajmal, did you release any app? I am asking this because I recently found some encoding mistakes probably due to a bug in an app. Consecutive notes from the same town in different countries, and the countries are in alphabetical order.

Claudio: That's an old bug in some another app. Apparently there's still someone using the old version. I emailed the guy and told him to update the app (and fix his entries). I'm kind of blocking the old application already, but as it presents itself as "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1)" it's kind of tricky to get the blocking done without blocking tons of non-app users..
