When I'm referer,do new users see first my default language?

Post by airis »

I explain what I mean. I noticed today that there is a link to EBT and I am the referer. It's an English speaking site. I started to think why I haven´t refered any new foreign users. Then I noticed that all users that follow that link see EuroBillTracker first in Finnish, because I have chosen Finnish. No wonder nobody has joined. :? :(

When I changed English as my language, the link lead to English version of this site. When I chose Greek they saw this site in Greek. I think I better choose English as my language. Has anybody else noticed this :?:

That's odd ... I think they see English as default
(I have refered users from Germany and France ... but my default language is English, so that may not clear things up -> good remark)
Time is on our side ...

Yes, maybe the computer always remembers the last language chosen. Even if I logout and then come back following the link?

Nope, the language is english by default
If the user's browser specifies another language, it's that language.
If the user clicks on another language explicitly it's that language...

So... no matter what your language is, it will choose the best language for the people you refer to the site
