That can be a very cool game in fact.

It's not possible to check on our hitmaps if the shortest line between the two locations lies exclusively on land. This is because the lines drawn on EBT maps are not the shortest distance lines (great circles).

It is possible, however, to check it, for any specific pair of points, on one of the great circle mappers available online.

My favorite is Adam Schneider's great circle calculator at his GPS Visualizer.

Note: I'm using EBT distance (2290), even though I think it's less acurate than the one calculated by this tool (2298.7). Google Maps caulculates 2299.22.
