I think English is the best language, because nearly everybody speaks
English, and learning people a complete new language (like esperanto) is a
lot of work.

Nearly? In 2000 a research of the EU commission tells that 41% of the EU15 citisens speaks English (19% French, 10% German, 7% Spanish, 3% Italian).

Today I think the % of EU25 counties is lower.

It means about 250 million individuals who do not speak English.

So, how about my "Personal EU" idea?
Anything I can do we can do better.

Fons, go and....

I'd vote for Latin. I don't think EU should adopt the language of its enemies (the UK, which is in the EU just to try to slow it down and try to make it fail, and the USA, our rival.)

Hey, you're forgetting that English is Ireland's main language too. And I wouldn't say that the UK and US are our "enemies".
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

There are nearly 100 million people whose mother language is German, these are already over 30% of the 300 million EU15 inhabitants

Could it be that those speaking the language as native tongue are not in the numbers?
