In this topic, you can volunteer to organize the Winter EBT Meeting 2024.
The definition of "winter" depends on your point of view and location (see previous W-EBTM dates), but the board thought "by the end of March" would be a generally approved approximate date.
Desired qualities for organizers:
- Two organizers or more. One will be appointed as the main organizer.
- The main organizer is at least 21 years old.
- The main organizer should be able to communicate in English.
- At least one of the organizers should have participated in an official international Eurobilltracker meeting.
- At least one of the organizers should live in or know the city where the event will take place very well.
- At least one of the organizers should have organized a national EBT meeting.
- The city should have a certain touristic appeal. International EBTM participants will stay for more than one day and they should be able to see more things than they will see on the meeting day.
- The city should be located near an international airport.
- The city should have a railroad station, preferably an international railroad station.
- There should be youth hostels nearby where people can stay cheap.
- There should be a few restaurants which are able to have a large group of people eating there or two/three restaurants located near each other which can handle some smaller groups.

If you do so, please give us:
- The name(s) of people in the organizing team;
- The city you want to organize Winter EBTM24 in;
- The date(s) that you can organize it (please discuss the possible dates within your organizing team first before publishing your candidacy). If your city gets selected to host the meeting and if there are multiple possible dates, the organizing team can later on set up a poll to select the meeting date.
- 29.10. 21:00 CEST: Call for candidates is closed. This is approximately three weeks from now.
- 29.10. 21:00 CEST - 5.11. 21:00 CET: If there are multiple candidates there will be a poll to select between the candidates. Yes, this is only a one week long poll, but as you know about this already three weeks in advance you can probably plan for this accordingly.
- Evening of 6.11. (or earlier): The selection is discussed, decided and announced by the board.
The selection process schedule is intentionally fairly tight in order to not waste too much time on the selection process, so that the organizers could get the final go-ahead from the board as soon as possible. This means that you do not have to have all the plans ready yet when you post your candidacy. Of course the more finished plan you have the better. The board expects to see somewhat refined plans of the meeting by the end of November, if your city gets selected to host the meeting.
