1) Minor: The web server will be rebooted tonight (21.4.) at around 03:30 CEST for upgrading to CentOS 7.5.1804. Expected downtime is probably around 15 minutes. Edit: Downtime was 03:30-03:34.

2) Slighly less minor: The data center where EBT's server is located will be closed next week due to "modifications to the building". All the servers in the data center will need to be relocated to a different data center. I will be personally hauling the server to the new location on Tuesday 24.4. at approximately 10:50 CEST. If everything goes as planned, the downtime will be around one hour. Edit: Downtime was 11:09 - 11:42 CEST.

Edit:
The ISP moved the rest of their own equipment to the new data center on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. I thought this would not affect us, but looks like we were partially unreachable this night. IPv6 users were the most affected, but IPv4 was affected somewhat as well. Everything seems to be working OK now (25.4. 04:13 CEST).

And of course the next day there's a new more important kernel update, so expect another reboot on early Wednesday morning.

Edit: Today's downtime was 03:45-03:52 CEST.

The web server will be rebooted early Tuesday morning for upgrading to CentOS 7.8.2003 (CR) and for applying firmware updates.

Edit: Operating system update went smoothly, but installing and applying the firmware updates needed an additional reboot. Updating firmware images and rebooting takes ages, regardless of how fast the server is. Therefore today's downtime was exceptionally long, 03:28 - 04:17 CEST, or around 49 minutes.

The web server will be rebooted early Sunday morning (25.10.) for upgrading to CentOS 7.9.2009 (CR), along with a network card firmware update. This is likely to take around 15 minutes.

edit1: It appears that some kernel updates aren't available yet. If they aren't ready by Sunday morning, the maintenance break will be postponed to some later date.

edit2: The kernel updates seem to be available now, so the maintenance break will proceed as planned.

edit3: Sunday's downtime was 03:40 - 03:51 CET.

Our ISP has informed that they need to perform urgent maintenance for one of their routers. This is scheduled for 2024-11-25, 03:30 AM UTC, ie. about one month from now. EBT and the forum may be unreachable for about an hour.
