You're going to be disappointed  I just read this comment of yours:

and thought "That's true, it's not exactly a Lorraine cross, it looks more like two superimposed Ts. I wonder what comes up if I google "TT currency exchange"? … And it was the first result.

As a side note, while checking if I had ever seen chop marks on notes, I realized that I had already tracked a note with a "TT85" chop mark. Sorry, I don't have a picture of it six year later

You're right, I am disappointed (with myself). 8)

Although I did think of doing that simple search, I never did it, and I don't even know why. My wife, who is a designer and search specialist, just said to me that she wouldn't imediately think of looking for TT currency exchange either. Sometimes, thinking a little to the side is just the best solution.

Thanks for sharing!

Greenish stamp on a :note-5:
Clearly an animal, when viewed upside down it kind of looks like a monkey.

Excellent chopmark!

I wasn't seeing a monkey. Instead, I saw some kind of feline, a big cat, or to be more specific a tiger (its head seems to be tiger-like both to me and y wife, who's a designer and kind of specializd in iconography). So I decided to ask GPT-4, uploading this picture:

Here's ChatGPT's answer:
The chopmark in the image looks like it could depict a stylized animal, and based on its shape, it resembles a lion or possibly a small feline. The figure has a curved tail, an upright posture, and what seems to be a head with a mane-like feature, suggesting a lion or a similar animal.

While it's a simple representation, the overall silhouette and the tail position match well with common representations of lions on some banknotes or stamps.

Hello!

I found this UV stamp on, a 50€ banknote, does anybody have an idea what the story behind it could be?

Thanks.

Muppetshow has found another banknote that has been stamped by T.T. Currency Exchange at Pattaya, Thailand with their T.T. stamp that looks like a Lorraine cross. This time it's numbered J95.

I am adding to my list.

(Maybe we need a new category for notes decorated as Christmas gifts.)

The cross in the coat of arms of Slovakia is named Lorraine cross (croix de Lorraine). This chopmark (which is not exactly a Lorraine cross but close) has been found several times. Trezay has found that these chopmarks belong to T.T. Currency Exchange in Pattaya, Thailand, who operate around 40 branches all around the city.

Here are some of these reported so far (with different numbers):
