People drive through Holland very fast when the get HUNGRY (and drive to Belgium of course)

I cannot explain this, but here you find some additional information:
http://www.wiskgenoot.nl/eurodiffusie/resultaten.html
This shows that the Netherlands mostly have foreign coins from Germany and Belgium, while Belgium mostly has foreign coins from the Netherlands, France and Germany.
The fraction of foreign coins has the same tendency (10% difference) as for notes.

Belgium has more borders! The netherlands are only connected to Belgium, Germany and the Sea! where belgium also has borders with france ands Luxemburg

Yeah...
Maybe Luxemburg is the big evil do-er !
If we get a note from Luxemburg, it's a foreign note, but if they get a LU note in NL, it's just a P-note, so it's not foreign! :D

And in Belgium there seem to circulate lots of Spanish €20-bills (the pooling system!).
Else still 55% of the bills in Belgium would be Belgian.

Yes, I wanted to say that too, we have A LOT of Spanish M007 notes of 20EUR! About 20% of the 20EUR notes I encounter are Spanish !

The last couple of days I also got a lot of Portugues notes of 20 euro !
But I don't think it's someting to do with the pooling system, but just plain luck! :)
It took me 4 months to get my first Portuguese note, and now I suddenly got 4 in 2 days ! :D

The reason is probably that Belgium has important roads (in European scale) while the Netherlands do not.

For example if one is driving from Denmark to France, he will almost surely drive through Aachen and then to Belgium, thus never visiting the Netherlands. The only reason for going to the Netherlands is going to the Netherlands. It's not on the way between any other places.

And if you check http://eurodiffusie.nl/ , you can notice from those pie charts that the difference still exists.
