The Europeans just are kind enough to accept them in the Euro contest, Eurovision and also sports contest, the Arabs would never accept them in the Asian competitions

It was better when everybody song in their native language.

I did watch the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest this spring. It is a big show there. They had 4 semifinals and 3,8 million viewers watched the final (total population 9 million).

For some countries, it was harder to win. We are used to listen to songs in english...

I wonder why famous groups and singers don't go. Is it forbiden to famous people?

No, it's simply un-prestigious for them to go there...

But there are millions of people watching... a good place to promote freely a new single... it's just a question of reputation of this contest... It's not worse than ceremonies such as MTV Music Awards...

But as said before in this thread the watchers of the contest are mostly old while these big stars try to sell their music to younger people (like those who watch MTV music awards) So it wouldn't make their reputation any better among their listener

I guess in some countries it may be even considered prestigious.. but in Portugal for instance it's not, it's considered a very unfanshion show.. nobody watches it here..

any way, a singer that has already a built career wouldn't like to go to a contest like this, having the risk to loose.. it would be humiliating..

this is sometimes a way for unknown artits become famous (celine dion, abba..) not the opposite..

as to Tatu, their fame is too recent.. I don't know the details about their participation.. and maybe the contest in Russia is not that bad seen as in other countries, I guess specialy in southern countries...

by the way, does anybody knows the austrian candidate? and why is so hated?

bn

PS: the organization already said that if Tatu kiss on stage they can get disqualified

The austrian singer is very bad! :?
You can watch his song online on the official website. There are all the videos.

Tatu only wants a good advertisment! ;-)
Like Dana International...
