I think it won't be a problem, my father writes down some serialnumbers for me once in a while.

And one of my friends send some serialnumbers via MSN to me (not many, only less than 5 per week)

Rules can never be made exact. Their meaning is always more important than their exact wording. If the note is anyway only 1m away from your hands and you can read the serialnumber, knowing for sure the note really is there, I can't see a problem.

The note gets tracked into exactly correct location. Where's the problem?

My opninion to. As long as you enter the exact location of a note, it's ok by me. My sister-in-law has a boutique and she writes down some of the serials for me, I enter them for the correct location at the time they were recieved and specify in the comment.
Also my goddaugther noted every recieved note on their holiday and I entered them the same way.
I see no harm in this.
The people who work in groups do the same thing.

Yeps, my good friend in Kouvola sends me the serial numbers of his notes every day and I've got some nice hits of them lately. He's an essential part of my tracking team ;)

Evert: A-ha! I have been wondering how you manage to get notes every now and then entered in different places, but this completes the puzzle. :P

That's right.. But I also spend a lot of time at Kouvola region myself, and we sometimes just drive around or go home via small places and new roads - thanks to the friend of mine who works at a car-selling company 8)

This more letter-hunting story than a dot-hunting story. In the German forum there is a game called "Die Deutschland Tour". For each letter in the alphabet you must enter a bill in a town/village with a name starting with that letter. On sunday was my birthday and the present was a tour to

lazza wrote:Just returned from a dot-hunt, of sorts. :)

Been to Germany and Switzerland this week on business, and managed dots in Düsseldorf, Wuppertal and Dortmund (I even arrived late to a meeting as I had to stop for a coffee-dot  ), then also a new country with a dot in Zurich, and a new dot for Heathrow airport (which hasn't appeared yet).

Planning how to go on a dot-hunt in the UK without going bankrupt (not many banks like to sell just a single €5 note   ). There are a few "empty spaces" on the dot map not far from Newcastle that need my help!
HA HA! Can you believe it? My mini German dothunt from my business trip (above) has led to a Parking Fine!!!

On the trip (to Düsseldorf and Wuppertal) I drove to Dortmund for the evening (to get an extra dot), and have ended up with a €15 fine for parking in the wrong place. They have even tracked me down to the UK through the hire-car company! I tried to park in a few places in the city centre, but there were clear signs to stop me. But I thought I found a free place in the end with no restrictions... obviously I was wrong! :x :x GRRRRR!

(At least I think it's a parking fine... "Schriftliche Verwarnung mit Verwarnungsgeld. Anhörung zur Ordnungswidrigkeit." and "Sie parkten unzulässig im eingeschränkten Haltverbot")...

 Well Lazza shit happens! You must have overlooked this sign:
Image

You should have been a bit quicker, because it permits you to 'halt' for less than three minutes. Should have been enough to buy a snickers and grab a note!

Sometimes it looks like this:

because the lack of funds is preventing the german state to procure new signs but you have to pay in any event...

I was once fined for parking in 'Verkehrsberuhigter Bereich'

In these areas parking is only allowed on marked areas (and not, as on normal streets, everywhere where space permits and it is not forbidden) Though it was cheaper, only 10 EUR I think.

I've been photographed by an automatic camera during the EBTM in Leiden  ... just because I got lost by car so I had to drive on a bus/taxi lane. I still didn't get any ticket but I don't doubt there will be one on my way  .
Afterwards, during dothunting in the NLs, I've been extra carefull not being fined a second time.
