English Univiersties typically have three terms as follows (terms are 8-11 weeks in length depending on University):
Autumn/Michaelmas: mid/end September or early October to early/mid December
Spring/Lent: early/mid January to mid/late March or early April
Summer/Easter: mid/late April to mid/late June
The Universities are fully open during these periods, but also are open for postgraduates / research for almost all of the rest of the year (except for 1-2 weeks over Christmas and a week over Easter).
Are you planning a trip to an English Uni? If you are planning to go to
University in the UK, most have open-days, usually during Spring term.

Nice! Is she planning to follow in your footsteps? Glasgow is a great city for students.mirandolina wrote:Do they have an open day in spring too? In September my daughter went to the open day at Glasgow university.... my old haunt!![]()
(You are probably right about the open days - I think most probably have them throughout the year... I just remember going to a few around Easter time. But then, it was half my lifetime ago...

Not really "following" as she plans studying medicine, not languages. All my family went to Glasgow Uni, it seemed the natural place to go as we lived only 10 minutes away. But she is applying as a "European student" so we don't know what chance she has of being accepted.
