I like craco's idea of setting up some kind of organisation in a legal frame.

In Belgium we have the VZW (Dutch acronym for Vereniging zonder winstoogmerk) or a.s.b.l. (French acronnym for Association sans but lucratif). These kind of associations are meant to have no profit and in Belgium depending on the activities you can even get subsidies.

I don't know if such things exists in France or if it's possible to make some kind of international association.

I don't mind donating about €10 a year for a better site. (No, not more, I'm not that rich :)
About the way of making donations, I believe you could set up a PayPal or Amazon account, the problem being in most people not having a credit card :?. Or you could create an account for EBT donations only.

I suppose you are assuming I would be receiving the money ? If so...
I could list every donation I get and list every expenses. The money could easily be sent via snail mail, I've had that happened fine. I'd rather not my bank account cirulate on the internet :)
Okay, I like the idea of making a list where all the incomes and outgoes are mentioned on. :)

But what do you mean with sending money by snail-mail....?
I have never heard that word before! Can someone please explain...? 8O

Thanks in advance!

I like the idea to make a list. About that list: for those who want to make their donation public, maybe it's possible to add something like "bhoeyb 200€ ( )" at the list.
Maybe we can start a topic about that list??

Webmaster, what's the address we can send our donation to?

It's a pleasure to see how many people are willing to support EBT :)
For the moment, we are looking into the different options for donating (snail mail, bank account, paypal etc ...) and how to organise all this. Also we will look at how to report donations/expenses back to our users.

Greetzz,

Would you please keep us informed! I really like to know what you're planning.

Good luck!

I don't think this thread is needed at all.

But if this actually is needed I want to say out cloud and clear that no-one outside the EBT-world wants to pay a cent for this hobby.

Only after practising the hobby, maybe making the first hit and maybe being connected with other ebters they/we feel like ready to care for EBT as it was part of her/his/our very soul.

I vote for voluntary fee and I am strictly against any fee for new-comers. After one year or so they can decide, if they want to pay or not.

We have to remember, that not all the people are as rich as you and me. Notes are what counts, not your financial contribution.

It should be mentioned in the constitutional/foundational law/rule of the soon to be founded non-profit-organisation, that entering notes in the system is always more valuable than giving money.

We already have all the money needed (thanks to avij this far), but not all the needed people entering notes. We are lacking just about 100 million people, I think. There are just close to 40 million notes entered right now.

With the new EU rules it is free to wire your money to a foreign country in the EU (up to 25.000 €/transaction ). So that wont be a problem there. You only need the IBAN and BIC code of the recieving account. Snail mail is always risky.
