I don't actually like presents, nor giving or receiving either.... Xmas time is not for spending all the banknotes we have(after entering their codes on here, of course
). The reason why I don't like presents is because what I call "the gifts ladder", I explain: if you are given a present whose value is €20 (for example), next time you feel you must give him/her a present whose value should be a bit up, let's say €25. By doing it you will be guaranteed other's person satisfaction.... and then, it start the ladder: the other person will surely do the same... and so on
. I am not into consumism, but it might be different provided we could give those presents which are truly valuables: those you can't see and those who get from your heart. Marry Xmas.

What about just giving those ladders a good kick on their balls? Just ignore them. There's a reason why presents' prices are supposed to be kept secret as well as possible.mintoterino wrote:I don't actually like presents, nor giving or receiving either.... If someone really gets annoyed to you for buying a cheap present, then you may just ask them, if they really think you should bribe them for them to allow you to be their friend, or are you allowed to buy them presents that are actually nice - even if they are cheap? :)

WHAT if u give as a present something made with your own hands? My cousin did some artcrafts in iron 4 everyone and has been really nice by him, he has done something with his hands special for everyone...Xmas and its presents can be a reason to communicate people "I have thought on u"...Think of it.

Yes, that is what I meant yesterday... I actually think a present you make from your own hands is much more valuable. It is consumerism what really annoys me, I am not against giving presents... it is nice. I remember a 5-year-old girl giving me as a '04 Christmas present the drawing of myself she had just done and certainly, it was one of the most beautiful presents nobody gave me ever( it makes me laugh whenever I have a look on it).milanocapitale wrote:WHAT if u give as a present something made with your own hands?
