Hi, it appears that your notes are now in their correct locations (Leszno and Poznan).

Please have some patience -- this is all done voluntarily and as such, some things may not happen immediately. If you'd like to help us in entering the coordinates for Polish cities, let us know and we'll arrange something

There is a group of volunteers that have a list of places that have entered notes but aren't plotted to map.
They then check the postal number and city and then try to find the exact coordinates of that postal code in that city.

That means every city is unplotted in the beginning. It takes a time between 5 minutes to a month for the volunteer group to find the coordinates for a city that has appeared on the list.
So, it's not about the size of the city. We have originally had no database of the coordinates of postal codes in the world. We have built it completely from scratch ourselves. And that's why the city's size doesn't really matter. The only thing that matters is how long ago the first note was entered from that city.

just to tell you ka-8, that the problem you are mentionning is not only linked to Poland : in countries where EBT is less developped, such as in France, there are still a lot of cities and villages that are not in the database... But, every day, thanks to the work done by volunteers, the database is growing and the dots appear more and more easily.

By the way, I left some eurobills in Warsaw in May of this year : I wonder if you could find them back and make a great hit with me...

Fingers crossed...

Well, we will see, but if they went into the banking system they may be distrubuted elsewhere...

By the way, what I have noticed is that most of foreigners who visit Poland, leave/get EUR there, and later enter these bills, use the postcodes in system e.g. "64-100" which I believe will not be accepted by EBT. If I remember correctly this shall be entered without dash, so it shall look like "64100". Am I right?

In case of hit, will the system "connect" two entries in case the postcode has been entered in an improper way?

Regards,

Ka-8
The way the post code is written doesn't really cause a problem.
The post code 64-100 will appear to the list of post codes without coordinates and someone from the coordinate group will look: "Oh, there's already 64100, I'll give this the same coordinates"
It means an extra 60 seconds of work for someone in the coordinate group a while after the note has been entered, but that's all.
Of course it's better giving the post codes in "correct" form (which is the one used by most users), since that way the coordinate group doesn't have to spend an extra 60 seconds per note entry.
But anyway, for EBT it doesn't really matter how the postal codes are written, because the database is updated only when notes appear from new post code areas. You could write it 6 4 100 or 6410 0 or whatever way and it would be recognized exactly the same way 64100. The only difference is, that someone will have to a little bit of extra hassle even if there were notes entered from the same city with correct post code.

By the way, if there should be problems with finding postcodes for polish entries, I maybe can help because I've an official dictionary of postalcodes from Poland.
It's dated 1974 but still valid I guess.
