They can't dominate the world, the USA are not the superpower it was in the 50s 60s... The fall has begun with the Viet Nam, the increased with the deficits and debt under Reagan, Bush and Clinton.
This country survives with credit.

Pdt Bush JR thinks his country is the strongest, he will fail in Irak... I regret that it takes thousands of deads for him to understand the USA are not alone in the world... :(

..and, as we remember, the Roman empire was actually quite cruel both to its people and the peoples around it. So indeed, this logic sounds reasonable.
And that logic also gives hope, as history tells the Roman empire fell eventionally :)

I really don't see how the roman empire should have lead to a peaceful Europe. Could you explain that :?:

They give us the basis of right(a lot of law systems still use the corpus iuris civilis as a base of the modern right) and the system of new parliament has been refined by romans and their senate. They create a true system of money that is like our euro, u could change a "sestertius" in every corner of the emeperor.
U should read some books about ancient rome, that's great.

Milanocapitale, remember that at the Roman empire never included what is now Germany, Scotland, or Nordic countries like Finland, Sweden, etc. I guess it's why Ernst is a bit surprised by what you write.

I told u THE BASIS, not the EUROPE, so...but u have to remember that
germany has been a very important part of Roman Empire

http://www.usd.edu/~clehmann/pir/germany.htm

and about the structuration of the modern right it's known by everyone that the base is roman.

I don't think Roman imperium ever created a real peace everywhere. It might look like that because Romans had taken over so large areas that there were not really free nations which could have been in war against each other.

I don't know if sestertius can be regarded as an international because in the past the value of money was the value of its material. It did not really matter what was the name of the currency.

Anyway, Roman imperium was an interesting stage in history. Why Greek did not create a similar imperium although they created the basis for the culture of Romans? Many people wonder that why did Roman imperium collapse but I wonder how it could ever exist.

I am quite sure that American rule in the world will not last forever either.
