We could all just take hundreds of notes along on our trips to some exotic countries, and then enter them there and be proud of the hits. But jeesh, it's "like cheating in solitaire". You'd be forgetting the whole point of EBT, which is to find out how your notes move. We're tracking them, and the hits just happen as a consequence. Not the other way around.

Just my two euro cents. 8)

Maybe that will teach him to enter the notes in the right way.
At that way it would be a triple !!! Then you get Geleen- Cologne-Bangkok :D
Be honest, this is only possible in Trackies' wildest dreams
Eurobills left outside the eurozone will return to europe by bank-pooling, with a businessman who needs € for his trip or something similar and with maximum luck such a bill will be found by an european EBTer in the eurozone again but certainly not been entered by a resident of Bangkok who is in games with foreign banknotes.

It's usual but is there really a rule that you have to enter notes were you received them? I don't think so.
The place where notes finally become released seems as legitimate for me because it's part of their natural way and it should be your decision which of these 2 fixpoints you consider to be the most interesting one, at least in such an extraordinary case.

Also it's absolutely comprehensible that you travel with some more euronotes to Thailand and exchange your money there, the conversion-rate is just better. So this bill was in Geleen, found in Cologne (as the comment tells) and was released in Bangkok, that's fair tracking and I can't see anything wrong in this.

You'll maybe prefer the way it was handled here but believe me, some bla in the commentfield don't give you the feeling of a long distance international hit though I know that it has made such a long journey - Big surprise: No tracker waiting for my bills on Gran Canaria but the next tourist brought it home.

Well, the instructions "Enter the name of the city where you got the note" etc. on the new note submission forms don't leave much room for interpretation. The Rules & guidelines are not directly concerned with this matter.

This may be debatable because it requires a lot of organising ability to tell where a given note was spent. However, if this place can be stated accurately (as in the proposed case) then the indicated place is undeniably part of the natural way of the banknote.

Yes, I think the sigh of the anonymous poster Jaja in this thread would have been most appropriate here. Much more here than there anyway.

If I get a note here, and send it to a familymember in Sidney Australia, it is not gonna be a hit with Australia is it?

But at least he is honest enough to put in the comment that he got it in Koln.

I dont think this note was received in the Dominican republic as well although it was entered there.

While this note is genuine.

For proof, look at the hometown of the users.

why :?: I think this user got this note perhaps in his holidays. I´ve also entered notes from my holidays in other countys. And I also got notes from a non Euro-country. I don´t understand your opinion. The hometown has nothing to do with it.

When I am in the Dominican RepublicImage I take Euro's to change to local money and not the other way around.
So my Euro's come from Holland :flag-nl: , although they end in the DRImage.
If al local, who probably changes money for a living, enters them it is a "legal" DRImage-entry.

But I must admit the example is not the best.
Sach is a user with over 100.000 notes and this is a single note entry, so it can be possible that he got it there.

What I ment is that if your hometown is in DRImage, it is more likely you received it there.

More in general,
You should not enter a note at a place you took it to, but where you got it from.

But it is still possible to get Euro´s in an non-Euro-country. For example I got this note in Detroit, USA http://www.eurobilltracker.eu/index.php ... id=7528669

I think many trackers changes Euro´s against Euro´s in non-Euro-countrys to get some new notes and dots in other countrys. Look at the dothunting thread http://forum.eurobilltracker.eu/viewtopic.php?t=5507

Amen.
Deliberately affecting the note circulation just because of EBT is like cheating in solitaire.
Seteleiden liikuttelu vain EBT:n takia on vähän kuin huijaisi pasianssissa.

@hafla: Yes, it's very possible to have euros even the most exotic countries. You may for example get them from money exchange when you're leaving and changing the local currency back to euros. So it's very possible. Schach's entry is all real. No question about it.

@Notes-in-Thailand-matter: But this matter of taking hundreds of notes from Germany and entering them to Thailand - that sucks big time. It has made me angry, since it's so stupid! This is a precedent for EBT. If this case is just left hang, more of these will emerge in time. I'm sure of it. Even today many people take large amounts of notes from bank to take them to abroad - and all of this just for EBT. But they enter them to the country where they got the notes. And this is fully ok IMHO. This is the right way of trying to get international hits, if one likes to try to archive such.

I'm still strongly seeking that the notes involved here must be changed to Germany! This is the only way to do it right and it would show that such acts are not tolerated also in the future. That's just faking and against our policies.

If you want notes and perhaps hits abroad, change money there, try to have serials from your travelling group or in other ways, but do not take notes abroad and mark them there!

I have entered bills in non-euro zone and I am quite active on that part : I use to tricks to do so :

-at an Change bureau I ask for example to change for 60€ in local money; but paying with 2* :note-50: ; I automatically, get at least some local eurobills ; then when I change back in €uros, it's also local...
- in my meetings, I often meet colleagues coming from the euro-zone and ask for their bills... also locally gained...

I believe Hafla should consider these possibilities before writting down things on other users that may hurt them.
This topic is called "suspected users" and not "I did not think before writing down something".

I already appologized to Sach.

Once again, it was a bad example and not an attack to Sach.

This post ends my part of this discussion.

Please unmoderate this hit:

http://www.eurobilltracker.eu/index.php ... d=14496192

for the other hit with hailtotheking has different days, so this is a regular hit.

Thanks from cornjac

And more more in general,

You should use the place where you got the note not a place where someone else got the note.

@Ralf: Probably because the hit duration is below 24 hours. But if you have no connection whatsoever with HTTK I also wonder why it should remain moderated.
