counting days for "Last note entered on ..." puzzl

Post by village »

I think the counting algorithm for "Last note entered on ... (n days ago)" should be improved. Tonight I logged in a few minutes after 23:00 CET (GMT+1) and read the following greeting:
"Letzte Banknote eingegeben am 2003-12-31 18:31:41 (vor 2 Tagen)"
But it is one day ago in common sense, because today is (still) 2004-01-01. Could it be possible that there are two different time scales, one for calculating time /from server time, which is finnish (GMT+2) as avij pointed out and another for displaying?

Ah, I see: after re-login I get the following:
Last note entered on 2004-01-02 00:13:33 (today)
So my suggestion is to add the time zone when displaying times - as we live in different time zones - just for clarity. And, please do it in a way avoiding cryptic abbrevations like CET, EEST? and so on. (GMT is ok, but what would our french-speaking users say? UTC?)

All the times you see should be in your timezone, but looks like I forgot to change that particular place  I'll try to fix that shortly, but not right now as coding at 2am is quite error-prone
