nearly all of his bills are serials. let's hope, he's not a faker

I am aware that it is considered "general knowledge" that francois_paris was a faker (inactive since january 2006). However, it is extremely difficult to retrieve the actual charge. When using the search function, the oldest posting which mentions him isPhaseolus wrote:This hit will cause a lot of uproar in the coming hours on the French forum.
francois_paris remains indeed the biggest faker in the French classification. no action has ever been taken agaisnt his faked entries.
PS : don't ask me to give more evidence ; there's plenty available when using the search function of the forum.
Perhaps a test, perhaps an accident, clear case for moderation, but clearly not a proof for large-scale faking (the fact that this quoted hit was one of a series of 25 identical hits paco99-f_p makes no difference here).j3paris wrote:There were already a number of arguments to suspect new user francois_paris has been inventing his numbers but here is the smoking gun ...

Since my name was mentioned in Gauss' post I feel compelled to clarify a few things, as the quote of my comment was taken slightly out of context. It was in the middle of a page on this thread where a relatively huge faking operation was starting to fall apart and there was much discussion and evidence about it.Gauss wrote:I am aware that it is considered "general knowledge" that francois_paris was a faker (inactive since january 2006). The expression "were already a number of arguments" cites no source and gives no clue whatsoever, of what nature those arguments might be. (The immediately following post by j3paris was not referring to f_p.)
Apart from the fact that he has entered a fairly large number of notes in a fairly short time I cannot see anything particularly suspicious. I cannot see from the forum any evidence against him. There were speculations that there could be a relation between f_p and midge_ure (who was convicted), or that f_p was inventing serial numbers at large. Given the amount of discussion on f_p, the webmaster has surely looked into his notes, and the fact that he is still there would indicate that it is all but a clear case. I even remember having spoken to either avij or Nerzhul about f_p on IRC quite some time ago about the possibility of having invented serials at large - but neither the serials entered are obviously non-existing (such as X99999999992) nor, and this is more important, is there a notable amount of non-matching short codes (and the rest looked like honest typos). It is rare that someone who invents serial numbers out of the blue gets the short codes right. If I recall correctly, not even a striking number of the notes entered belonged to consecutive series, another popular faking strategy.
So if there is an uproar it should get moderated into a neutral debate which spells out the charge and the suspected evidence. A major search in a forum whose language neither of the two webmasters speaks at an even remotely satisfactory level is certainly not likely to happen. Most of the posting I have seen just iterate that f_p is considered a faker and should be removed, without giving reference or reason.
Pffff, couldn't they make them 'anonymous' instead of deleting themQuizmaster wrote:Eurobela went away, and had all his notes deleted for personal reasons.redrabbit wrote:I was 90% sure that I had a hit with Austria... and now it's gone!
Don't know the name, but I thought it wasn't a small user. Is there any Astrian user (faker) deleted lately???
Eurobela insisted in deleting his - more than 63000redrabbit wrote:Pffff, couldn't they make them 'anonymous' instead of deleting them
