Switzerland is surrounded by euro countries, so if we need to go abroad, we muste have euros. That's why Switzerland is the first non euro country in EBT.
And because the country is small, we are close to the border. For me it's 10 kilometers by boat and 50 by car.

For the Swiss (the same is with the Liechtensteiner) the ATM's in Switzerland and Liechtenstein giving € also.
Foreigners can only choose for Swiss Francs (like I noticed on my holidays there

They created them as "emoticons" -I am not sure whether it is correct or not - 4 common use

Yes, they show up in the list of emoticons. Maybe it's just me, but with board messages I find typing CY or other country codes easier than inserting the flags ...
