Should avatars be allowed in this forum ?

Avatar means the small picture below the forum member's username. For example here's my avatar:

Why should avatars be forbidden?!

I don´t know - that was before my time...

But 6 years ago the internet was not what it is now. Many people still had slow connections then, so lots of pictures could have created a problem.
