Does anyone use any tricks to get more banknotes than necessary?
For example:
- at our ATM machines we have a few options to get notes. E.g.: € 100 in 2x € 50 or 5x € 20.
- When you have to pay €10, pay with a €50 note to get a lot of change. You can use the small notes when paying larger amounts.
Any more tips?

In the shops, I do as usual, I don't want to "break" big notes each time...
The unique habit I changed is that I used to pay all with my banking card before (carte VISA). I use more cash now...
I also like to get coins from the other countries, so I check the coins each time... and put them in a special pocket id there are so.
I also put in that special pocket the notes I get back, because they are not registered yet. ,)
Sometimes i do. Take large bills from the ATM and try to pay in such a way that i get as high as possible denominations back. Then do this again until 5 and 10 notes are left (more 5 of course) which i use to pay larger amounts.
But i don't have a lot of time lately so sometimes i don't even have the chance to enter a bill

I put all the 'foreign' coins i get aside. I'll have to sort things out, but haven't find out how to store them. I don't feel much for buying an album for every country each year. (and some even have differences within a year)
