As most of you, I've had troubles accessing the site. I found out that only one Portuguese ISP (the largest one) is blocked.

Which one? I have tons of us dollars,I travel alot over the pound and I forget to exchange them low denomination bills,1 and 5.

From Portugal, SAPO/Telepac and other corporate connections through these ISP are blocked. Netcabo is ok.

You're jumping into wrong conclusions.

Here's the deal, in a short way:

- The Where's George site got bashed several times by online attacks (DoS), spam, etc, etc, etc. The attackers were using different machines, all connected to international ISPs.
- Put simply, they way the found to narrow down the chances of getting attacked again was blocking some international ISP.

Have you ever managed a site that was hacked? It's a pain, I can assure you that.

It's not racism, it's more like a drastic way to play safe. And if that means leaving out of the game some users... so be it. :)

Agreed. If this (not allowing users of various major ISPs) is their way of dealing with such issues - oh well, you know my opinion about this, but it's their site and their decision who they want and who they don't want. But racism? Definitely not. That attitude is in my view not even discrimination. Come on, WG is, like EBT, basically a hobby site and should be fun ...

http://www.trackdollar.com :)

They also link to EBT and several other tracking sites, maybe we can link them, too :?:

Hi,

I am the developer and owner of http://www.trackdollar.com and also an EuroBillTracker.com member (username EuroMuck). I moved 2005 from Germany to Texas. And of course before 2005 I tracked EURO Bills.

My trackdollar.com Server:
Instead of using a standard server I developed my own server working on Port 80 only. In case of an attack my server software blocks this IP automatically, only this IP.

So I won't have to block an ISP or Netblock, ever. Anyway, thanks for posting the link to my US$ currency tracking website. Two german user signed up already today, thanks for that. Also I don't charge $7 a month to be able to see all reports and maps.

Interesting news indeed, thank you! Will try and use the site - currently I just have a few US dollar notes here, but that may change. Well, of course it would be best, in terms of statistics and hits, to have exactly one site per currency. But there's more than one euro tracking site too, and for tracking dollars, this way more people around the world can enter USD notes.

I am registered in your site now. I'm only the 22nd member of this very new tracking site.
Just one question how did you do to already have 42 hits for 1200 bills ?

Hi Yelverdack,

thanks for signing up to my website.

I mark every bill with a computer printer. Its actually a Canon IP 1600, perfect for printing bills.
I print a message (http://www.TrackDollar.com please track this bill online) and a symbol... I use the american flag, that is what will make people look at the bill a little bit closer.

Check FAQ and Downloads on my site, you can download the file to print your $ bills. It is not illegal in US to write on a bill as long as you dont print on the seals etc, the bill should not be unfit for circulation. Thats all.
Here in US nearly every currency tracker stamps their bill, you can design your own rubber stamp, upload it to a website and buy there your own stamp.
A hit rate from about 20% is normal when you mark the bill, 2 bills out of 10 entered will get a hit within the first year.
A lot of tracker here also just write the website name on the border of the bill.

here, this is how i mark my bills:
