My first thought: It's because some accounts are used by couples; then they can choose both "male" and "female".
But I know a few accounts where it doesn't work that way.
I know one account by two males and even an account by three males.

Female. I told 4 people about EBT, 3 were men (my uncle who's a bit obsessed with money but he's not so good with the computer, my dad but he's concerned about his privacy, a costumer in my shop but he also never created an account) and one woman (she created an account last week but she hasn't tracked anything yet). Maybe I should try more women
