There will be a short maintenance break for EBT's webserver 23.11. at about 05:00 CET. This is primarily in preparation for a slightly longer maintenance break that's going to happen some day next week (more details about that will be posted later on).

After EBT is up and running again, there will be a somewhat longer maintenance break for the EBTForum's server, possibly for a few hours.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

As I mentioned in my previous message, there's going to be another maintenance break for EBT next week. At around 08:00 CET on Tuesday, one of the hard disks for EBT's web server will be replaced. The forum remains available during the maintenance break at forum.eurobilltracker.eu

EBT is currently very happy with its two healthy hard disks, and the EBTForum server also got a new hard disk recently.

However, it appears that the power supply for EBTForum's server is slightly inadequate and it needs to be replaced with a more powerful model. This will happen on Saturday morning. EBT is unaffected, except for entering notes via phone (WAP) which will be disabled during the maintenance break.

Sorry for the slightly short advance warning, but it's best to make the update as soon as possible and I just got the replacement power supply.

There will be a maintenance break for EBT on 31 December at about 03:00 CET. I'll need to rearrange some indexes to speed up some queries, and preliminary testing on our development server suggests that the conversion may take about two hours. EBT will be unavailable during this time.

While I'm waiting for the rearrangement query to finish, I'll also upgrade EBTForum's phpBB to the latest released version (mostly small bugfixes).

Sorry for the short notice.

EBT will go down for a short maintenance break around 2am tonight to enable a few features and adjust the database accordingly. More on that later.

avij wrote:Our office (where EBTForum is hosted) lost network connectivity this afternoon, and as it looked like the connection won't be restored until Monday at the earliest, I decided to transfer EBTForum to the same webserver as the main EuroBillTracker site.
The connection was restored on Monday morning, as expected. We're going to move the forum back to its original server on early Thursday morning, primarily for load balancing reasons. This time we'll make some special arrangements so that updating the nameserver data won't cause us any downtime. It'll take about 1h to transfer the database and to make the required changes to the forum configuration, so the forum will be unavailable during that time.

Our ISP is performing some scheduled maintenance tasks tonight, 27.9. 00:30 - 03:30 CEST. EBT may not be fully available during this time. The forum is unaffected by this.

EDIT: We were unavailable for about 20 minutes during the night.

The forum server will change its IP address soon because we're switching to a different ISP. I'm going to arrange the change so that the forum would always remain available, but as history has shown, things don't always go as I've planned.. The switch will probably occur in the next seven days, I don't know the exact schedule yet. It's going to take a few days until the name server changes have propagated to all of you.

There will be a short break tonight around 1am CET as we need to regenerate some internal statistics.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but you should be sleeping/out partying anyway ;-)

Hi, we're moving the server of EBT and EBTF to a new location on Friday, 11th June, ie. tomorrow. The new data center should be slightly better in terms of cooling and network connectivity.

This means that EBT and the forum will be unavailable tomorrow from about 09:00 CEST to 10:00 CEST. The IP address of the server is also going to change (to 80.69.163.42).

Tonight around 11:30pm CEST EBT will be unavailable for a few minutes while we're regenerating some internal statistics to correct various inconsistencies which have accumulated in the last months.

Sorry for the short notice.
