Sardegna is always beautiful: in Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn.
We have two Sardish users across the forum, I am sure they will suggest you something of nice

Arghhh! It depends... ! I live in southern Sardinia, but I've never been a good tourist.
In 2013 Easter will be on 31st March, it can be a good way to join enjoy, good food&wine and tracking together, there will be lots of typical fests all around the land.
Then, it depends on where are you going to land and what about your stay.
If you need for more, just ask. Bye!

I use to have my first swim about on last March weeks, so...

Some tips for Sardinia by car.
Motorways are very bad, so long trips are very hard. Actually, there are NO motorways in Sardinia, so...
Running too fast is almost impossible and not very safe.
Main ways are SS131 (south to north-west), SS125 (south-east to notrh-east) and SS199 (north-west to north-east).
All these ways are life-long works in progress.
Main works are in Sanluri/Villasanta (SS131 from km 40 to km 55), here there is a one side road only rather than a double one as usual.
Works all long SS125 are shared in sectors, so sometimes there are alternative paths along the coast. Newer sectors are fantastic, the best streets of the land!
Beware autovelox, respect speed limits, in a particular way KEEP COOL in Villa Greca (SS131 km 23). Another bastard autovelox is in Las Plassas, but Las Plassas is a place far from main streets.

And the time when I make 14 days holiday at the beach is over. I made it a lot of years around the world. Enough for me
Now I had to take 5 days holiday in March and when I think about what to do it was easy
I will stay there 5 days (Saturday - Wednesday) to make all Dots
Here my booked Hotel locations

My personal touristic suggestion: if you can suspend for three hours your tracking activity, when you'll be accomodated in Gergei don't miss the chance to have a walk through the Giara di Gesturi, fantastic natural area with woods of cork trees, nice ponds and lots of wild horses moving around.

I've been in Gergei some times when I was working in Isili. It is a nice place. To track all the dots east to Gergei you have to walk SS198... in my opinion it is the best road for panoramas.mico wrote:and this year remember to drink a cappuccino with a cornettoMiles66 wrote:That sounds good-flop- wrote:... to have a walk through the Giara di Gesturi, fantastic natural area with woods of cork trees, nice ponds and lots of wild horses moving around.![]()

Some EDITS for previous tips. Villa Greca is on SS131 km 29-30. Another dangerous autovelox is in Monastir (in north-to-south side only, km 17) and in Furtei (SS197). SS197 is a boring road, because it crosses all the downtowns of cities along the path, it gets the trip slower.
