I believe that you can use "kitkarenkaat" all year, am I right?
word-to-word-translation:
Kitkarenkaat = friction tyres

Yes, that's possible. Many people use their old friction tyres in the summer and buy new ones for the winter

It's a trip organised by our school, so we're obligated to go there. :p
But I think it's going to be nice, and I hope the weather also is...
Waow! You lucky! Prague is so beautiful! I am sure you'll enjoy it!
I've been there in 1992... already 11 years ago. At this time, Tchecoslovaquie still existed.

I'm back !

Weather was VERY nice in Prague, and so were the monuments, streets, bridges, etc...
I really enjoyed it !
Too bad I couldn't use any euro's there. Sometimes you could pay in euro, but at a very bad rate. So I just used Czech krones.

I heard that it's 29 degrees in Prague tomorrow

(and western Germany), in the east it's 19 degrees (and in the Netherlands also 19)
That's a big diference.

The Czech Republic is near East-Germany, not West-Germany

whoops!

How could I change west and east

Easy - only two letters

It feels like spring up here too. There are tiny leaves on trees and some green grass. Last saturday it was +20 °C.
So no need for winter tyres anymore.
The nights aren´t dark anymore. The street lights were switched off a few days ago. (Next time they will be switched on in August.)
This webcam picture shows what does it look like here. Check it out in the middle of the night. (In the picture you can see northwestern sky, the library and the Lappia Hall.)
Webcam 2 of the Rovakatu street.

Bringing life to this old thread.
Summer doesn't really feel like summer this year. Temperatures have been mostly around 15 C in the last few weeks. But today it's warmer, 20C! I really hope weather is going to be nice next week as I go to a camp where we won't have lots of space indoors so we'll be outdoors as much as possible, but it won't be possible if it's raining

Warmer = more mosquitos, isn't it??

Yes, you're right. It's the same in Belgium. In the past, you couldn't remember the nice and sunny days because they were rare. Today, you hardly can remember the bad and rainy days because they are rare

. Let's keep it that way ...

Today has been the warmest day in June. (+15°C) I did work outside today and me and my co-workers felt it was a hot day today.

There has been several nights with minimum temperatures of -5 °C in the countryside.
And yes, we did experience an invasion of mosquitos today. There were hundreds of them today. They didn´t bother me much, but my younger co-workers didn´t like them.
But the birds finally have something to eat.

I have found many bird chicks that have died because of the cold weather or hunger.

Nice for you to have such fine weather. Here in Portugal it's been a blazoning heat since mid-May. Well, I actually kinda like it, I grew up used to it, but I wouldn't mind a few days off... In Lisboa is very, very hot (in the 25-30ºC range) and down south (where I'm from) it's even worse.
Well, it's better than winter, I guess... At least, I like it better

Not here, they are up in the north or at least in the countryside and archipelago.
