Hello Seltaeb,

Klausz, a forum user at Banknotesworld, is wondering if there's any photo proof of :note-50: V018/VC.

In fact, I can't see any other mention of this combo anywhere.

Could this be a mistake? Did you keep this note?

Take two pictures, please : The first only with the serial number's beginning (VC01), the second only with the short code (V018xx). Take a white sheet of paper to hide the other informations. Muchas Gracias ! ;)

Not sure where to post this but I think people here might be interested.

I had a string of UNC :note-5: U/U notes. Most were C4/UD2, but some were A4/UD0. All had the same 4th-8th position and were mostly consecutive in the 9th-11th position but they were not ordered consecutively.
So C4 and A4 notes mixed. One UD0 has the same digits as one UD2 (except checkdigit of course)
I think I can post this list without harm:

Code: Select all

U0--A4;UD0abcd085x
U0--A4;UD0abcd091x
U0--A4;UD0abcd092x
U0--C4;UD2abcd094x

U0--C4;UD2abcd096x

That is quite interesting!

There's a large quantity of skipped numbers, way larger than the expected quantity of quality-check fails.

Here are my guesses. Do any of the following make sense? They both sound a little stupid to me, honestly.
  1. These sheets were taken apart for quality check because they were found to have a lot of defects. I've seen sheets being inspected; I guess that is a true depiction of what happens, not a dramatization. If so, I guess that inspectors would mark individual notes for discarding before the sheet cutting. In the process of manually separating the crossed out notes, they got mixed up.
  2. These notes were in a (central) bank's treasury / exchange office. The clerk mishandled two bundles and they got mixed up. Then, because they had too much free time and a little OCD, they tried to arrange the notes in numerical order.

Hi all :)

I have had twice a bundle which comes direct from Banque de France's printer site. And there was not 100 notes with same plate and same consecutive serial numbers ! 8O

For example, in the first one :

U0--G4 / UD6abcde910x to 915x
U0--H4 / UD7abcde910x to 994x
U0--I4 / UD8abcde987x to 994x

Also, in the last one :

U0--G2 / UB6abcde640x to 667x
U0--H2 / UB7abcde658x to 729x

And other example, the last withdrawal done today (50 UNC-notes) :

U0--E3 / UC4abcde399x to 403x
U0--D3 / UC3abcde315x to 327x
U0--A6 / UF0abcde334x to 360x + 363x to 366x (Where are 361x and 362x ?)
