avij nli wrote:Yes, certainly. This is almost always the case -- some genuine entries may also get removed during the cleanup of fake entries. If some user doesn't like this policy, he can avoid this fate by simply not entering any fake notes. Pincopallino did enter fake notes, so he must accept the consequences and not just expect others to spend an enormous amount of time cleaning up his entries.
Personally I am not interested at all in what Pincopallino thinks about this policy.
What *I* am interested in is not losing some thousands of tracked notes moving through Europe, and mostly through Italy.
I'm not here to take any defence of Pincopallino. I thought this point was clear, but it seems it wasn't.

No. In fact, this is very precisely the same method that we (I and Nerzhul) were using when we were still the only persons responsible for deleting fake notes. This is in no way an unusually cruel punishment for Pinco, this same methodology has been used for most fakers in the past. The only unusual part in this is the unusually large amount of notes affected. I believe we should treat everyone equally, regardless of the amount of notes entered.

Maybe I'm wrong but I had the feeling that in the recent deletions only fake notes were removed. I really appreciated this attention in preserving the richness of our database.

avij nli wrote:I can certainly understand the shock for the Italian users, but .. seriously, you should get over this.
Believe me, this is really an unfair approach.
Remember that you are not dealing with naughty children. I was here only asking for transparency.

this guys are arrived at 641 hits each other!!! 8O 8O
Well me and hinti have 925 hits toghether(among a lot of moderated ones) and WE DONT CHANGE NOTES,it just happens
may be you forget that they know each other, they go always in vacation together they don't have scruple to make this type of hits in every location they go (last summer they were in Sicilia and in Malta e they made several hits fortunately already moderated). So I think that in case like this needs a rule of automatic moderation for hit with less than 20 days. Are not friendly? ok but sure are not interesting!!!
Sorry, didnt know that,or probably forgot about that.I that case i agree with you :)

2 possibilities:

- friendly hit, to be moderated........
- the Glasgow user writes the link "www.eurobilltracker.com" on his notes: in such cases it can happen that the receiver of the note becomes curious and visits EBT, enters one and only one note (that one where he found the www address) and doesn't visit EBT any more afterwards, because lack of interest !!!!!!!

a moderator could eventually send a message to all involved users to ask some comments !!!!!!!!!! he can than decide how to react !

I support this option, reading comment in 1st hit he had.
"web escrito" should mean something like URL'd

If there is an explanation, there is no more reason for suspicion

Yes, you are right; someone of the 'Cleaning Girls' (if I remember correctly, it was ErGo) explained,
that when analysis shows a clear date when faking starts, the DB group considers only removing the notes after this date.
And since you cannot tell for sure which notes are genuine and which are not when someone fakes, all notes are removed
from that date on.

Since Pinco lost almost all of the notes, this leads to the conclusion that he/they started faking
very soon after starting to enter notes and thus one cannot distinguish between the "good" and the "bad".
The only solution to this mess is to remove them all. And this is what happened.

Excuse me, let me understand.
If they cannot distinguish good and bad, how can they say 99% was bad?

@all

The cleaning girls have their procedures, which are approved by the members of the board of Eurobilltrackers. Those procedures are clear to all members of the board and the workgroup database. They are also fair and absolutely needed. They followed procedures in all cases, also in the pinco-case. I also can tell you, that all cleaninggirls are wellrespected members of our ebt-community and they have an excellent amount expertise amongst them regarding every aspect of euronotes, shortcodes, plates and serials. They have the tools to use their knowledge to the good of the community.

They don't have discuss their decisions, they have a live too, you know. If you play honest you don't have to fear them. So please accept their work, and go on entering bills and have fun by finding hits which are more real than before and leave this case to rest. The decision is taken, now let's move on!
