yesterday i've got a 20 cent of 2008. From Mc Donalds in Lommel. Look the same as the 50 cent of Belgium 2008.

Yesterday I received my first 2008 coin, a 20ct in Roeslare.

As mentioned before, but to my surprice... the design of the national side was changed a bit :




Good thing is that the signature mark of the Master of the Mint and the mint mark are back on the coins.

For some reason both marks have been on all Belgian commemorative €2 coins and all euro collector coins, but not on the 1999-2007 circulation coins. 2008 may be a one-year type - from what I have read, the king's portrait may be modified again: back to the Keustermans design so to say, but with the '08 additions. We'll see ...
