If you are able to go to Köln/Bonn airport (easily accessible by train), you can try TUIfly to Klagenfurt, and from there you can perhaps find an EBT'er with whom you can drive to Ljubljana... All-in price for TUIfly is currently about € 270 for 22-24 August.

We fly CGN-VCE-CGN on 21-24 August. At least we can take you to VCE on sunday...

We fly CGN-VCE-CGN on 21-24 August. At least we can take you to VCE on sunday...

And CGN-VCE-CGN is still available at TUIfly for € 253 on those same dates.

Fons, have you tried calling Connections (or, obviously, http://www.connections.be)? You're still a student? They might have some last minute flights for a good price.

Train Zagreb-Ljubljana is only about 2hr20min. Don't know about ticket prices.

What airline offers this schedule?
Brussels Airlines could have had these prices a few weeks ago....

SN = Brussels Airlines, and I assume this is to LJU (Ljubljana airport), not to LBJ, as that's an airport on Flores Island in Indonesia

I want to thank everybody for their help, chances of me being at EBTM08 raised from 2% to 20%

The other 80% won.

It came out that it would cost over 400 euros for just the plane at the train, spending money for a great holiday is ok, but with this amount for just flying up and down and see nothing on the road to and from the destination is a little too much for me. I'd prefer to visit my sister in Canada for the same amount of money.

I was too late with booking because I had some sort of "plans" to travel by car to Slovenia, but I hadn't thougt of a plan B...
But I'll drink an extra beer on you all friday night, I hope you have a nice meeting. I'm looking forward to hear all the stories!

Let's see if I can attend the winter EBTM if there's one in 6 months.
