Today I've been to my "La Caixa" office to make a deposit. I tried to do it through the ATM machine. You can put the banknotes and the machine counts them. I deposited a mix of 50s, 20s, 10s, 5s and E5s.
The ATM DID NOT accept Europabills.
Later I'll try BBVA ATM, they have the same system.
Jordi.

so only the letters e and h (in front of the serial) change the corresponding country (from

and

to

and

), but only because oberthur and de la rue had had these codes as printer codes before. but why did polska wytwórnia papierów get d? does that mean that we won’t see any

anymore at all (although some

were supposed to be printed last year)?

Europa

will be issued in 2015, while considering the usual pace for new countries

should appear sometime in 2013 or 2014, especially as they are already printed. Same goes for

,

:note-10:s etc. However it's almost certain that we won't see any C notes for Latvia

An italian couple paid the taxi run with this banknote just the three (3) hours after I had been for nearly one waiting to "buy" a bunch of notes in Banco de España (see my previous post with the photo of the 30 banknotes). Only I was not able to register it at EBT yesterday night.

why the vertical number starts with 8 and not 3?

Read my warning:

HHmmm... hlaf clone? Does it exist? Is it a clone or not?
Maybe I should have written "Half serialnumber is clone of the other half", but, he... I think nobody got lost at it...
The 10digit-serial number is not
MODERATION. It is SExxxxx97403. I used the last 5 digits to clone the 5 first ones. Obviously, the last "x" before the 9 is not a "3", as can be seen in the clone, but an "8" as can be seen on the vertical part. In any case, 4 digits of the serial number remain hidden.
Jordi.

Publishing so many digits is a risky move, though. In fact, only 3 are left out, since the link to your note (available elsewhere) shows an extra digit. And, from other serial numbers, I believe we can also derive yet another digit at least. EBTers should never publish so many digits. The best policy is always verifying which digits are shown on the note report and then showing only those ones.

Warning:
Any future post containing explicit serial numbers will be deleted without any further warning.
This is especially valid for JordijanTaxi who has published a photo of the serial number.
Please read the netetiquette of this forum which specifically mentions this point.

Here's a map of the weird distribution system ECB has devised for the Europa fivers (click on the image to see the map on the brand new interactive Google Maps Engine):
Grey dots on the countries we still don't have information about (atm, Cyprus, San Marino and Vatican City).

Dear Phaseolus:
I'm afraid there's something you miss... I DID NOT PUBLISH an explicit serial number. (and I'm not shouting, I'm emphasizing what I mean).
I write a WARNING, also in emphasizing capital letters explaining that I used the second half of the serial number to clone the first half of it in the photo.
Only the last five numbers (ok, six with the vertical one) are shown. The four first numbers remain hidden.
Someone else tells me that the EBT lists show more.
Yes, they do. Full serial number has 12 digits: one country letter, and eleven serial numbers. Or one printer letter, plus one serial letter and ten serial numbers.
EBT lists show positions 1, 6, 7, 8 and 9.
(country letter -or printer letter on Europabills- and four numbers)
In my photo I show positions 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12.
Under my humble understanding, possible identification combining both publications (EBT's and mine) keep positions 3, 4 and 5 remain hidden. This gives 1.000 possible combinations. This, knowing that nobody can see my lists, so it is quite hard to find my banknote listed.
Remark and insist: the serial number in photo of my italian bill "LOOKS" "explicit", but IT IS NOT, wich I clearly warnn with capital letters immediately below the photo.
Please read again my post.
Best regards,
Jordi.

Jordi,
You did give the full serial number and the picture was showing a full serial number.
Please just respect the rules.
Thank you.

Phaseolus wrote:You did give the full serial number and the picture was showing a full serial number.
No, he didn't, Phaseolus. He gave exactly what he just said. As to the "full" serial number the picture was showing, it was manipulated: he copied the last 5 digits and pasted them instead of the first 5.
Anyway, JordiJan, your combination might be leaving only 100 possibilities, not 1000, because one of the digits is a control digit. And arguably at least one extra digit can be derived, leaving only 10 possibilities. We appreciate your kindness in publishing photos and stories about your notes but please always publish serial numbers as shown by EBT's note report, otherwise you're violating our etiquette and risking that some troll derives the full serial number and registers a note that s/he has never seen.
Please let's assume that other EBTers caring to use the forum are in good faith and may make mistakes; let's treat everybody accordingly and with civility. This stands for both of you at the moment guys. Sorry for correcting you, I just want everyone to keep civil and friendly.

Trying to enter my first 'new' 5 euro note.
I found the printer code OK, but the serial number is two letters SF plus 10 digits and when I enter it, my last digit goes into the comments field.
Should I leave one of the letters out?
