Lately, I'm getting notes directly from the NBB in Antwerpen.
I was very surprised to see the lady behind the desk was writting the amount of notes I gave her to exchange
ON the notes themself

!
So even personel from the National Bank itself don't know they better don't write on banknotes

.

When my father worked in a UK bank, this was common practice. A bundle of notes with a single note folded around it, with the total value of the bundle on the folded, outer note.
A lot of older GBP have some sort of writing on them, but it seems less common now.

I think it is illegal in UK now to write on banknotes. They call it defacement.

Interesting that you mention... a few days ago some good conditioned 200 € notes went through my hands and on
the only belgian includet was scribbled "6500" - maybe thats some kind of usual in Belgium? At least I've never seen such an "amount-entry" before...
Unfortunaltely that bill was none of yours

but so it seems they stay alive at all..

so that is a note that two Dutch girls got in Spain, wrote the Spanish town on it and brought it home to Holland?

Today I received from the ATM of my bank a five euronote with some text written on it. There is written in Dutch: "lekker neukertje"

with a signature under it. ( I don't know how to translate the text in English)
It is this note:
http://www.eurobilltracker.eu/index.php ... id=8592995

How about one day that we ALL write
www.eurobilltracker.com on our notes to see which one is found first

One special day?

What do you think about this people. I hoped this would be a hit with someone who lost her
heart but no, nothing special
