I'm not sure, but it might be a security to prevent notes being copied and printed.GWR7007 wrote:@ GZ1000
I`m sorry but I have a question:
Why is there a black stripe on the note? Anything on the note you don`t want to make public?
But a more obvious reason would be to cover the serial number on the back, just to be sure that this bill doesn't become a public serial number (better safe than sorry).eddydevries wrote:I'm not sure, but it might be a security to prevent notes being copied and printed.GWR7007 wrote:@ GZ1000

I used to scan my notes at a copier at my work, but since they've got new types of copiers it's not possible anymore (the copier recognize it's a banknote and prompts a message like "not valid to copy/scan". It might be so, that the copier GZ1000 uses shows this black box to prevent money-printing.

Indeed: I didn't think about it, that the serialnumber would be visible on that spotElmo wrote:But a more obvious reason would be to cover the serial number on the back, just to be sure that this bill doesn't become a public serial number (better safe than sorry).eddydevries wrote:I'm not sure, but it might be a security to prevent notes being copied and printed.GWR7007 wrote:@ GZ1000

Uhu, the serial number was visible through the note, so everyone could have entered it and get a fake hit.Elmo wrote:But a more obvious reason would be to cover the serial number on the back, just to be sure that this bill doesn't become a public serial number (better safe than sorry).eddydevries wrote:I'm not sure, but it might be a security to prevent notes being copied and printed.GWR7007 wrote:@ GZ1000

We certainly could use more EBTersThe volume of debit card payments at Dutch points of sale increased from €81bn in 2010 to €84bn in 2012, while cash withdrawals at ATMs dropped from €52bn to €49bn.
